Resumption of the recreational sports program for adolescents and young adults with autism disorder
On Tuesday, 10/08/2021 AD, the Autism Families Association resumed its pioneering program for adolescents and youth with autism spectrum disorders under the slogan “Recreational Sports Program”, which encourages the prince to participate in partnerships. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, His Highness Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Farhan Al Saud, explained that the program comes within a series of programs and projects on which the Association is based, pointing out that the program’s role is based on the success of the first 60 programme. His Highness added that the program’s outputs showed an improvement and development in motor and expressive skills and expressing an opinion, in addition to a feeling of independence and self-reliance and a sense of safety and reassurance, which was greatly contributed by aggressive behavior. It is worth noting that the expected total number of beneficiaries of the program during the year is 160 young people with autism spectrum disorder, who are nominated according to specific criteria to ensure that they benefit from the program in a way that suits all needs of the program; This reflects positively on the development of their abilities and skills in communicating and integrating with those around them. During the program period, the young man goes through all sports and recreational activities, from football fields, tennis, basketball and tennis.
